Visions of sugarplums danced in audiences' heads long after this year's fantastical sold-out production of The Nutcracker at Lawrence University's Stansbury Theatre on December 13, 14, and 15. This year's production hearkened back to the story's literary roots thanks to Artistic Director Jeanette Makaroff's creative choreography. Check out some photos from the event on our Facebook page, and stay tuned: our dancers will take the PAC by storm in 2020 for a production of The Nutcracker you won't want to miss.
Peter and the Wolf
Last year, MYB embarked on a unique collaboration with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra. Together, we created a remarkable production designed to spark young audiences' imaginations. The vision came to life onstage at the PAC in January and, according to educators in the audience, may have inspired audience members to become future dancers. Peter and the Wolf was supported in part by grants from the Bright Idea Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Mielke Family Foundation.
A Spoonful of Sugar
This spring, our dancers will partner with the Appleton BoyChoir for a show sure to "make the medicine go down / in a most delightful way!" The production will take place on Friday, May 8 (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday, May 9 (1:00 and 4:30 p.m.) at Perry Hall.
